How to Become More Productive in Your Life?
Steve jobs fascinated the world with his innovative ideas where he reached from nowhere to somewhere. His forward-thinking and productive practical steps saved the apple company from bankruptcy. He is considered one of the most productive men in the 21st century. He adored millions of people by becoming indifferent, and even after his premature death, his deeds won’t fade away where many people consider him as their role model.
Certainly, the world’s most respected people have different character traits than ordinary people. The difference between successful people and the most successful people is that they are more productive in their life.
Success in most of the areas is directly related to the productivity of the actions done. To become productive, such people have implemented ingenious procedures and skills to yield the maximum results from the minimum investment – i.e., a short period of time where such qualities aptly suit the time and circumstances.
Not only Steve Jobs, but all of the most successful people in every field also have the same rules in life, even if they differ in characteristics according to their field.
The most successful people have 24 hours a day so as for the successful people and the ordinary people but, they had contributed more than the others. It is how they effectively manage their time. The most common advice is to look for the difference in what made them the most successful. Develop those skills. Yet, everyone couldn’t become successful with that advice. Something is missing for them to acquire such skills; indeed those skills are capable of leading a successful life.
The fact is that anyone can develop such skills; it is the negative belief that stops one from achieving them. The scientific research showed that one can trigger neuroplasticity where developing new skills is associated with the new neural connections.
If one doesn’t have much control over their mind, then it is not easy to develop such skills. One’s activities solely depend on the subconscious mind. However, the subconscious mind can be influenced by conscious activities. (Read also Free Will and Determinism in One’s Life)
One has to know that productivity is not depending on a single factor but various factors. Here, I have considered productivity in life as a whole not restricting particular activities. Below, I have mentioned the three main causes that can greatly influence productivity.
1. Doing the Right Thing
Doing the right thing at the right time is the secret of productivity. To do this one has to acquire the necessary knowledge and experiences. Most successful people have gained experiences by learning from other’s experiences.
A person with a success mentality has the big picture of their deeds and their decisions have less possibility to flop. Optimism and a positive outlook of life favor their decisions. The studies showed that when one is happy and optimistic his unconscious or conscious level actions are positively oriented towards his goal. (Read also Mentality of the Most Successful People)
Every activity has its own unique way of procedures and doing it as required indeed results in its success. For example, if one is doing yoga – asana or other yogic practices, it has to be done properly, or else it becomes less effective or, if done wrong it’s a waste of time.
Similarly, in the case of crop cultivation where one has to manure it at the appropriate time, remove the weeds, and water it properly. Or else the productivity will become less or if not done according to its standards, then, it will result in complete failure of crops.
In certain circumstances, if we had done the job as per requirement still there is a possibility of the activities to become less productive. This is where we have less control over the situation and we consider it as the luck principle. This luck factor depends on the probability of events. In the book ‘Crack the Hidden Laws of Life’ I have mentioned how to alter the probability to favor the luck factor in several activities. And, in the rest of the deeds, we do not have much control over them such as like natural calamities, external conditions, etc.
2. Effective Decision Making Skill
Peer pressure is inevitable in one’s all activities. One’s actions depend on subconscious level interactions. People will also influence our minds negatively or positively to a certain extent on the conscious and unconscious levels. If affects negatively it can shake one’s faith in the activities.
Everyone has their own passions in their life where indulging in them is the way to happiness and to become productive at work. This productivity depends on becoming efficient at work.
To yield better results at work one should have a balanced life such as good food, proper sleep, etc. The research showed that working overtime will adversely affect our performance and results in less productivity. Moreover, it depends on the quality of work rather than quantity. (Read also How to fall asleep faster at night)
Once, I was in a day job. More than seventy percent of my time was dedicated to their company. I thought of developing a website and invested a little time and money in that. It was a total failure at the beginning; I was getting more pressure from outside to leave it.
But writing was one of my passions developed in the initial days of the website which boosted me further to have a better hope in it.
I realized that doing things right will pay off the result. I researched a few of the viral blog posts on the internet and came up with the necessary strategies that make the content viral. I implement such strategies in a few of my recent contents and I could find that the contents went viral reaching over 60 K views each in lesser time.
3. Stop Procrastinating
Procrastination is the result of many related psychological problems. Mostly, laziness comes first in most people. Such people look for pleasurable moments presently by not considering the risky life in the future.
Due to lack of motivation in particular activities is resulted with the wasting of time unnecessarily. Hence, we have to motivate our mind more often whenever it slows down due to external circumstances. There are many ways to stop procrastination depending upon the cause where the serious people don’t fail to make the decision how to not procrastinate in their deeds.
In the book ‘Crack the Hidden Laws of Life’ I said about having effective time management skills prevent one from unnecessary stress where each successful step provides the motivation for the next and to become more productive in life.
